On Sunday, June 27, 2010 at approximately 6:25 am the Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle injury crash on Interstate 84 at milepost 171, east of Jerome.

Fujiko Oshima, 45, of Broomfield Colorado was driving west on Interstate 84 with Denis Dupeyron, 39 also of Broomfield, and their two children. When, for reasons still being investigated, she lost control of the 2008 Kia Rondo rolling it into the borrow pit off the right shoulder where it came to rest on its top.

Fujiko was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise where she is in critical condition. Denis and his two children were transported by ground to St. Benedict's in Jerome with minor injuries. Fujiko and all the passengers were using their seatbelts. The westbound lanes of the Interstate were temporarily blocked at 6:48 for the air ambulance to land, and were re-opened shortly after.

Alcohol was not a factor in this crash which remains under investigation by Trooper Pohanka who was assisted at the scene by Trooper Kilton as well as Deputies and EMS personnel from Jerome County.
