Idaho State Police is investigating a fatal vehicle collision that occurred on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at approximately 12:39 P.M., on southbound US95 at milepost 101 south of Midvale.

A 41-year-old male from Caldwell, was driving southbound on US95 in a 2012 Ford Econoline. A 56-year-old male from Boise was turning north from the Midvale Hill Rest Area onto US95 in a 2021 Volvo Semi pulling two trailers. The Ford Econoline collided with the rear trailer. The driver of the Ford succumbed to his injuries on scene.

Traffic on US95 was blocked for approximately 4 hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.

[MERIDIAN, Idaho] - The Idaho State Police Forensic Services (ISPFS) proudly unveils its Annual Report on Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kits (SAECKs), spotlighting the state's proactive stance in addressing sexual assault cases.

The report, enriched with charts, appendixes, and graphs, reveals pivotal statistics related to SAECKs:
- SAECKs Purchased by ISPFS: 640
- SAECKs Distributed by ISPFS: 507
- SAECKs Collected: 444
- SAECKs Tested by ISPFS Laboratory: 465
- SAECKs Not Submitted to ISPFS Laboratory: 78 (as per subsection 8)
- DNA Database Hits from SAECKs: 38
- Unresolved DNA Database Hits from SAECKs: 32
- SAECKs Submitted Without Required Reference Samples: 211

Idaho State Police is investigating a fatal vehicle collision that occurred at 12:43 P.M., on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, on eastbound US20 at milepost 308 in Idaho Falls.

A 21-year-old man from Rexburg was driving westbound on US20 in a 2008 Ford Mustang. A 43-year-old man from Moore was driving eastbound on US20 in a 2015 Freightliner pulling a propane trailer. The Ford Mustang drove across the median and into the eastbound lanes colliding with the Freightliner. Both vehicles became engulfed in flames and were put out by the Idaho Falls Fire Department. The driver of the Ford Mustang succumbed to his injuries at scene. The driver of the Freightliner was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

Traffic on eastbound US20 has been blocked for approximately 4 hours and is still blocked to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.

Idaho State Police was assisted by the Idaho Falls Police Department, Bonneville County Sherif's Office, Idaho Falls Fire Department and the Idaho Transportation Department.

A 37-year-old male, from Caldwell, was traveling northbound on 10th Ave in a 2016 Ford Focus. Two female pedestrians were jogging southbound on the right shoulder of the northbound lane of 10th Ave. The vehicle crossed over the fog line and struck a 43-year old female, from Marsing, who was jogging in the bike lane.

She was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Ford was wearing a seatbelt.
This crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police is investigating a vehicle collision which occurred on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 8:43 A.M, on US26 at mile marker 374, in Bonneville County.

A 2007 Ford Econoline was driving eastbound on US26. A 2019 Mazda CX-5 was traveling westbound on US26. The driver of the Ford crossed the line and struck the Mazda.

The driver of the Ford, a 44-year-old man from Idaho Falls was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. His passenger, a 20-year-old man from Ammon, was not transported. The driver of the Mazda, a 36-year-old woman from Victor, was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. Her juvenile passenger was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by ground ambulance.

Traffic on US26 was blocked in both directions for approximately three hours, allowing emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

A 47-year-old-male of Gooding, ID, was driving on eastbound I84 at milepost 153 in a snowplow. A 59-year-old-male of Black Canyon City, AZ, was driving eastbound on I84 in a 2015 Mack semi-truck. The semi-truck failed to slow for the snowplow and struck the back of the snowplow. The driver of the snowplow was transported by personal vehicle to a local hospital.

The drivers involved were wearing their seatbelts.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred just before 0923 hours on Jan. 17th, 2024, in Bonner County, Idaho. The crash occurred on State Highway 200 near mile post 43, just west of Hope, ID. A 69 year old female, from Clark Fork, Idaho, was driving a silver 2000 Nissan Pathfinder, westbound on State Highway 200, when she lost control on the snow covered road and left the roadway. The vehicle entered the eastbound ditch striking a guard rail before going down a steep embankment and overturning. The driver of the Nissan was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was transported to Bonner General Hospital by ground ambulance where she was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Assisting agencies: Bonner County Sheriffs Office, Bonner EMS, Sam Owen Fire Dept.

Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 6:24 p.m. westbound Interstate 84 at milepost 77, west of Mountain Home.

A 19-year-old male was driving a 2007 Saturn Aura eastbound on Interstate 84. A 57-year-old male Fish and Game Conservation Officer was driving westbound on Interstate 84 in a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado towing a boat. The Saturn crossed the median and made contact head-on with the Silverado in the westbound lanes.

The driver of the Saturn was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. He was wearing a seat-belt.

The Fish and Game Officer in the Chevrolet was not transported. He was wearing a seat-belt.

The lanes were blocked for just over four hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and to clear the lanes.

This remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred around 8:28 AM on January 5th at US12 and Summit Grade near Lenore ID.

A 1990 Toyota pickup, driven by a 71-year-old Male from Orofino, ID, was traveling west bound on US12 when it crossed the center line into the east bound lane before it left the road. After leaving the road the truck rolled over before coming to a rest near Summit Grade.

The Driver of the Toyota Pickup was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was not wearing a seat belt. This incident is still under investigation. Idaho State Police do not believe alcohol/drugs were a factor in this incident.

A 1998 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on US95. A 2023 Peterbilt truck was traveling northbound on US95. The driver of the Honda, an 18-year-old female from Notus, crossed the center line and struck the Peterbilt. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver of the Peterbilt, a 31-year-old man from Caldwell, was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

Traffic on US95 was blocked for approximately three hours, allowing emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

POCATELLO, Idaho - While assisting Power County Sheriff's Office with a pursuit, an ISP vehicle was struck on Interstate 86, west of Pocatello.

At about 6:18 p.m. tonight, Power County Sheriff's Office pursued a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan that fled on Interstate 86 from a traffic stop. Law enforcement responded to assist as the Caravan evaded deputies. During the pursuit, the Caravan traveled westbound in the eastbound lanes and struck multiple vehicles. The Caravan then changed direction and traveled eastbound in the westbound lanes and collided head-on with an ISP trooper's vehicle near mile marker 52.

The Caravan's driver, a 35-year-old Pocatello woman, was arrested without further incident.

The driver and two ISP troopers were transported to a local hospital for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. While other injuries were reported, no one else was transported to the hospital.

The Pocatello Police Department is handling the investigation.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 86 are no longer blocked.

Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred at 12:03 p.m. on January 4th, 2024, on State Highway 75 in Lincoln County.

At 12:03 p.m. a 59-year-old male from Ketchum, was traveling southbound on SH75 in a 2005 GMC Sierra when he crossed over the center lane divider and collided with a 2015 Toyota Sienna heading northbound on SH75. The Toyota Sienna was driven by a 68-year-old male from Hailey, the driver of the GMC was transported to a local hospital via ground ambulance. The driver of the Toyota succumbed to his injuries on scene. Both Drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

The NB roadway was blocked for approximately three hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police is investigating a vehicle collision that occurred on Wednesday January 3, 2024, at approximately 12:18 A.M. on southbound I15 at milepost 25, in Bannock County.

A 52-year-old male from Spokane Valley, WA was driving southbound on I15 in a 1994 Kenworth tractor pulling one trailer. The Kenworth was traveling at a low speed to get up the incline. A 46-year-old male from Three Hills Alberta, Canada was also driving southbound in a 2023 Freightliner tractor pulling a trailer. The Freightliner failed to yield to slowing traffic and collided with the Kenworth. Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt.

A 60-year-old male passenger in the Kenworth was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by ground ambulance to a local area hospital.

Southbound I15 was blocked for approximately 3 hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police investigated a non-injury, property damage crash on US95 near milepost 233.5 this morning, January 2, 2024, at approximately 8:00 a.m. A 2008 Dodge Nitro, occupied by a 58-year-old female from Council, ID, was traveling southbound on the White Bird Grade. A 1998 Dodge Ram, occupied by a 68-year-old male from White Bird, ID, was traveling northbound on the White Bird Grade. The preliminary investigation indicates that the Dodge Nitro lost control, crossed left of center and collided with the Dodge Ram. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts. The roadway was blocked for approximately 1.5 hours. Idaho County Sheriff's Office and Idaho Transportation Department assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred December 31, 2023 at 11:31 p.m. at the intersection of US Highway 20-26 and Can-Ada Road on the county line of Ada and Canyon County.

A 78-year-old woman was driving a 2003 Dodge Stratus northbound on Can-Ada Road. A 36-year-old female, was driving eastbound on US Highway 20-26 in a 2012 Chevy Traverse. The vehicles made contact in the intersection and came to rest blocking both lanes of travel.

The driver of the Dodge, was wearing her seat-belt. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Chevy was transported by private vehicle to a local hospital. She was not wearing a seat-belt.

The lanes were blocked for just over three hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.

This remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police is investigating a fatality crash that occurred at 12:50 a.m. on Monday, January 1, 2024, on State Highway 24 at mile post 60.6 in Lincoln County.

A 21-year-old male from Dietrich was driving a 2006 Mercury Milan eastbound on State Highway 24. The vehicle went off the right shoulder, struck a fence, rolled, and came to rest in a field on the south side of the roadway.

The driver succumbed to his injuries on scene and was not wearing a seat belt.

Idaho State Police was assisted by Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Lincoln County Coroner's Office, Lincoln County Paramedics and Dietrich QRU.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
