On January 29, 2023, approximately 1543 hours, Idaho State Police responded to a two-vehicle, injury crash, southbound on US 95 near milepost 371, Benewah County, Idaho. A silver, 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound, in the left lane, on US 95 near milepost 371. A silver, 2002 Hyundai Elantra was traveling southbound, behind the Chevrolet in the left lane. The Chevrolet slowed with traffic. The Hyundai failed to slow for traffic, swerved to the left, and collided with the rear, driver's side corner of the Chevrolet. All occupants for both vehicles were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts. The investigation is still ongoing.

Idaho State Police is investigating a crash that occurred on SH 33 at milepost 131, in Teton County at approximately 7:00 a.m.

A snowplow was the lead vehicle in a line of cars, travelling eastbound. A 32- year-old male from St. Anthony, ID, driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup attempted to pass the line of cars. A 52-year-old male from Idaho Falls, ID, driving a 2017 Ford commercial box truck was travelling westbound. As the Silverado was in the oncoming lane of travel, it struck the Ford, head-on. The Silverado then spun, and struck a 2010 Toyota Yaris, driven by a 56-year-old male from Teton, ID.

All drivers of all vehicles were wearing seatbelts. The driver of the Ford succumbed to his injuries at the crash scene. The driver of the Chevrolet and his two adult passengers were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

SH 33 was blocked for approximately five hours as the crash scene was investigated and cleared. Idaho State Police was assisted by Teton County Sheriff's Office, Teton County Fire and Rescue, and Idaho Transportation Department.

Idaho State Police is investigating a crash that occurred January 25, 2023, at approximately 6:18 p.m..

A 20 year old male, from Boise, stepped into traffic in the eastbound lanes of I184 near milepost 2, in Boise. The male was struck by a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by a 41 year old female from Nampa. The male succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

Multiple lanes were blocked for approximately three hours while emergency personnel investigated the crash scene.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - The Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle DUI collision where the suspect is believed to have fired a shot near Pinehurst.

Just before 11:30 a.m. this morning, Idaho State Police (ISP) troopers responded to the report of an impaired driver in a beige Dodge pickup traveling eastbound on I-90 near milepost 28. Within minutes, a trooper located the Dodge and initiated a traffic stop near milepost 40. The Dodge failed to yield and eluded the trooper at a high rate of speed along I-90. The Dodge lost control and crashed at milepost 44 near Pinehurst.

After crashing, the driver was not compliant with verbal commands, and a shot was heard from inside the truck. The trooper did not fire his weapon and took the driver into custody without further incident with the assistance of a Pinehurst Police officer and a Shoshone County Sheriff's deputy.

As a precaution, the driver, a 32-year-old Spokane, Washington man, was taken to a local hospital despite stating he was uninjured. No other injuries were reported, and no law enforcement officers fired their weapons.

Eastbound I-90 was totally closed for about 20 minutes, but one lane of traffic is currently open in each direction. When the investigation at the scene concludes, both lanes will reopen. The Idaho Transportation Department is assisting with traffic control.

Shoshone County Sheriff's Office, Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, Osburn Police, and Pinehurst Police are all assisting with the investigation.

Idaho State Police are investigating a two vehicle fatality crash that occurred on January 24, 2023, at approximately 6:31 a.m., northbound on I15 near milepost 62, in Bannock county.

A 66-year-old male from Blackfoot, Idaho was traveling southbound on I15 in a 2015 Ford F150 pickup. The driver of the pickup went into the median, crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with a Peterbilt semi traveling northbound. The semi was driven by a 71-year-old male from West Valley, UT.
The driver of the pickup succumbed to his injuries at the time of the crash. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The right lane of travel was blocked for approximately 5 hours for the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.

Multi vehicle crash on US93 south of Twin Falls

Idaho State Police are investigating a three-vehicle injury collision that occurred on January 23, 2023, at approximately 5:52 p.m., on US 93 near milepost 35 in Twin Falls County.

A 47-year-old female from Twin Falls was driving southbound on US 93 in a 2016 Dodge Durango. A 21-year-old male from Jerome was driving northbound in a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pickup. The driver of the Durango attempted to pass a Semi truck driven by a 40-year-old male from Beaverton, Oregon. The Durango struck the Chevrolet pickup head-on at an angle.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup was transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Durango and the driver of the Semi truck were wearing seat belts. The driver of the Chevrolet S-10 pickup was not wearing a seat belt.

The roadway was blocked for approximately two hours while emergency responders assisted those involved and clear the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.

The Idaho State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 10:00 A.M., January 22, 2023, on I15 at milepost 31, in Bannock County.

The driver of a 2019 Lexus GX, a 62-year-old man from Pocatello, was travelling southbound on I15 when he rear ended an Idaho Transportation Department plow truck that was travelling southbound with safety lights activated. After impact, the Lexus continued off the right shoulder and into the barrow pit. The driver of the Lexus was not wearing a seatbelt and transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the plow, a 36-year-old man from Preston, was not transported.

Southbound I15 was partially closed in the right lane for approximately 45 minutes.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred at 8:55 A.M. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at northbound US-91 at milepost 120.6, just north of Shelley, in Bonneville County.

A 2003 Ford Explorer, driven by a 59-year-old male from Idaho Falls, was traveling southbound on US-91. The driver crossed the center lane and struck a 2009 Honda Accord driven by a 78-year-old female, from Shelley, which was traveling northbound. The Ford continued off the roadway and struck a power pole. The male driver was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries on scene. The female driver was wearing her seatbelt.

The southbound lane of travel was blocked for approximately two hours.

This crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police are investigating a vehicle collision that occurred at 10:23 a.m. on January 13, 2023, at southbound I15 at milepost 87, in Bingham County.

A 46-year-old-male of Pocatello was driving a 2018 Freightliner UPS truck northbound on I15 and drove into the median. The truck then drove across the southbound lanes of I15 onto the right shoulder and rolled off the roadway.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital via air ambulance. The driver was wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to their injuries.

Traffic on I15 was blocked for a short amount of time for the air ambulance.

The incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred on 01/11/2023 at 6:20 pm at the intersection of State Highway 8 and Teare Rd in Latah County. A Honda civic, driven by a 44-year-old male from Moscow, ID, was traveling eastbound on SH8 near the intersection of Teare Rd. A Dodge minivan, driven by a 64-year-old male from elk river, was traveling eastbound behind the Honda Civic. The dodge failed to yield and struck the Honda as it was turning left off the highway. The driver of the Honda was transported by a ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Dodge was treated and released at the scene. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The investigation is continuing.
Traffic on State Highway 8 was blocked completely for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Slide off on US26

Idaho State Police is investigating a slide off on US26 at milepost 366 in Bonneville County.

A 60-year-old male from Thayne, Wyoming, was eastbound on US26 in a 2005 Peterbilt semi. The male had a medical issue and went off the right shoulder of the road into a deep snowbank. Law enforcement was dispatched and when they arrived on scene, they located the 60-year-old male deceased.

US 26 was partially shut down while crews worked on removing the semi from the snowbank. Next of kin has been notified.

State Highway 26 is now reopened.

Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:29 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at milepost 161 on I-84 in Gooding County.

A 58-year-old Mountain Home man was driving eastbound on I-84 when his 2016 Dodge Ram pickup crossed the median, traveled through the westbound lanes, and came to rest on the right shoulder of the roadway. The driver passed away at the scene.

At this point, troopers believe the 58-year-old suffered a medical emergency. The coroner's office will determine the cause and manner of death along with the driver's identity.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.

On January 5, 2023, at approximately 1239 hours, Idaho State Police responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision eastbound on US 12 at the intersection of US 12 and SH 3 near Arrow Bridge, Nez Perce County, Idaho. A yellow Chevy van was traveling eastbound on US 12. A Western Star log truck was traveling westbound on US 12. The Chevy van failed to maintain its lane and collided head-on with the log truck. The driver of the Chevy, 73-year-old male, suffered severe injuries and was transported via ground ambulance to a nearby hospital. The passenger of the Chevy van was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the log truck suffered no injuries. Evidence suggests neither of the occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The roadway was closed and reduced to one lane for approximately 3 hours.

Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred at 12:11 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2023, on I84 at Eagle Road, in Ada County.

A 32-year-old male, from Meridian, ID, was seen running on I84 and was struck by a 2008 Buick Enclave driven by a 77-year-old male from Meridian, ID. The pedestrian was then struck by a 2019 Freightliner commercial vehicle driven by a 66-year-old male from Caldwell, ID.

The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

The roadway was blocked for approximately 2 and a half hours.

On January 7, 2023, at approximately 09:05, Idaho State Police are investigating a two vehicle crash near the intersection of US Highway 95 and Denver Rd near Cottonwood, Idaho. A 29-year-old female (sole occupant) was traveling southbound on US 95 in a 1996 Toyota 4Runner when she lost control of her vehicle, drove left of center, and struck an oncoming vehicle traveling in the northbound lane. The oncoming vehicle was a 2007 Mazda 6 sedan, driven by a 37-year-old male. Both drivers were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. Speed too fast for conditions is a suspected factor of this crash. Evidence indicates the driver of the Mazda was wearing his seatbelt and the driver of the Toyota was not wearing her seatbelt. Idaho County Sheriff's Office, Idaho Transportation Department, and Cottonwood Fire and Rescue assisted with the crash. Investigation continues.

Idaho State Police are investigating a single vehicle versus pedestrian collision which occurred on January 3, 2023, at approximately 6:36 A.M., on westbound Interstate 84, near mile post 65.9, Ada County.

A black Subaru Forester driven by a 52-year-old male from Hammett, Idaho, was traveling westbound on Interstate 84. A 35-year-old male from Pasco, Washington, was in the lane of travel when he was struck by the Subaru. The driver of the Subaru stayed on scene for law enforcement and the male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

A white 1989 Peterbilt Tractor Truck was located just east of the scene and was stopped, blocking the westbound Port of Entry on ramp lane. It was later confirmed the abandoned Peterbilt belonged to the deceased male.

Traffic on westbound Interstate 84, was blocked for approximately two hours, allowing emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

On Monday, January 2, 2023, at 7:47 AM, Idaho State Police is investigating a single vehicle fatality crash on Highway 20 at Racetrack Drive, just north of Caldwell.

A 38-year-old man from Parma was travelling eastbound on Highway 20 in a 2004 Dodge Truck. The driver was passing slower traffic in the opposite lane of travel and merged back into the eastbound lane when he left the roadway. The vehicle rolled and came to rest off the right shoulder of the roadway. The driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. The juvenile passenger was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

A 32-year-old female of Heyburn was driving a Mitsubishi Outlander westbound on I-84 when she failed to maintain her lane, drove off the right shoulder, hit a sign, and the vehicle rolled coming to rest on its top. The driver and her 18-year-old male passenger of Burley walked to a local establishment to call for help.

The female was transported to a local hospital via ground ambulance. She was not wearing a seat-belt.

The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
