Update: Shots Fired in Dalton Gardens

Updating information released by the Coeur d'Alene Police Department and the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office regarding an incident in Dalton Gardens on January 24th, the man involved has been identified as a Dalton Gardens resident.

The man remains hospitalized. His medical condition is not available for release. No charges have been filed at this time. The incident remains under investigation by the North Idaho Critical Incident Task Force with detectives from the Idaho State Police leading the investigation.

For information previously released by the Coeur d'Alene Police Department and the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office please contact those agencies. Further information will be released as the ongoing investigation allows.

01/21/22 12:08 a.m. - Idaho State Police is investigating a fatal vehicle collision that occurred at 5:37 p.m., on January 20th, 2022, westbound on I-184 at the Curtis Road exit, in Boise.

A grey Ford Explorer, driven by a 26-year-old male, was traveling westbound on I-184 when he attempted to exit at Curtis Road. The grey Ford Explorer collided with a Dodge Ram pickup, driven by a 32-year-old male. A chain reaction occurred with four other vehicles: a Chevy Cobalt, driven by a 19-year-old male, a Subaru Cross Trek, driven by a 30-year-old female, and a Subaru Outback, driven by a 27-year-old female, and another Ford Explorer driven by a 67-year-old-male. The grey Ford Explorer then struck a light pole and came to rest in the median.

A 32-year-old female passenger in the grey Ford Explorer succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital. Next of kin has been notified.

The driver of the grey Ford Explorer was not wearing a seat belt. The passenger and all other drivers were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the grey Ford Explorer was arrested for vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

There was lane blockage for approximately two hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police is investigating an injury vehicle collision that occurred at 2:37 p.m., on January 20th, 2022, southbound on US-95 near milepost 111, south of Cambridge, in Washington County.

A 36-year-old male driving a Volkswagen Atlas and a 34-year-old male driving Peterbilt Semi pulling a single trailer, were stopped on southbound US-95 for a prior crash. A Cadillac Escalade driven by a 53-year-old female, failed to stop. She attempted to avoid crashing by driving onto the right shoulder between the jersey barrier and the Peterbilt. The Cadillac sideswiped the Peterbilt, then struck the back of the Volkswagen. A 63-year-old female driving a Honda CR-V struck the back of the Peterbilt's trailer, which wedged the Honda sideways between the jersey barrier and the trailer. A Ford F150 pickup driven by a 22-year-old male then struck the Honda.

The female driver of the Honda CR-V was transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital.

All persons involved were wearing seat belts.

The southbound lanes were blocked for approximately three hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 9:30 a.m. eastbound I84 at milepost 106, in Elmore County.

A Ford pickup with 5 total occupants which was being driven by a 22 year old male from Spring, TX, went off the right shoulder due to icy road conditions. One of the 4 passengers, a 23 year old male from Spring, TX, was not wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the time of the crash. One of the passengers, a 42 year old male from Fort Worth, was transported by ground ambulance to the hospital.

The driver and 3 passengers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Lanes were not blocked.
Next of kin has been notified. This incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.

On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at approximately 5:53 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle fatality crash eastbound I84 at milepost 150, approximately seven miles west of Wendell.

A 54-year-old female from Wendell was westbound I84 at milepost 150 in a 1988 Ford Escort. A 56-year-old male from Vancouver, WA was eastbound I84 at milepost 150 in a 2022 Freightliner semi pulling a single trailer. The Ford went through the median and collided with the front of the Freightliner.

The Freightliner came to rest in the median, and the Ford came to rest in the left eastbound lane of travel. That lane of travel was blocked for approximately six hours and the left westbound lane of travel was blocked for approximately three hours.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The driver of the Ford succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash. Next of kin has been notified.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police. They were assisted at the scene by the Gooding County Sheriff's Office and the Gooding County Fire Department.

Troopers arrest man for Eluding, felony drug, and fugitive charges

Idaho State Police Troopers arrested a California man last night after he failed to yield for a traffic stop. The driver is now in the Ada County Jail on several felony charges included being a fugitive from California.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., January 17, 2022, on eastbound Interstate 84 in eastern Ada County, an ISP Trooper attempted to stop the driver of a Mercedes sedan for expired registration. The driver failed to stop and continued eastbound into Elmore County, at points reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph. Deputies with the Elmore County Sheriff's Office assisted with spike strips that helped stop the vehicle. Mountain Home Police also assisted.

Further investigation found evidence the driver was in possession of a controlled substance. He was also found to be a fugitive from California wanted on an outstanding warrant for drug-related charges. ISP Troopers booked the driver into the Ada County jail.

Idaho State Police is investigating a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 3:00 P.M., eastbound on US20 at mile marker 397, north of Island Park, in Fremont County.

Due to low visibility, a passenger car was stopped in the eastbound lane of travel. A semi-truck and trailer traveling eastbound on US20 struck the passenger car. Multiple subsequent crashes followed involving approximately 40 vehicles. Only minor injuries were reported.

Idaho State Police was assisted by agencies in Idaho: Fremont County Sheriff's Office, Fremont County Search and Rescue, Madison County Sheriff's Office, and Idaho Transportation Department; and agencies in Montana: West Yellowstone Police Department, Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, and Madison County Sheriff's Office. Several tow companies from Idaho and Montana responded to assist in removing vehicles from the roadway.

There are several road closures:
US20, between Ashton and the Idaho/Montana border.
SH87, between the junction of SH87/US20 and the Idaho/Montana border.
SH32, between Tetonia and Ashton.

Both the weather forecast and road conditions can change quickly. Motorists are urged to know both before venturing onto the roadways. In Idaho, road condition information is updated regularly at 511.idaho.gov.

The operator of a T-500 Galion road grader, a 69-year old man from Sandpoint, Idaho, left the roadway, rolled down an embankment and came to rest on top of the cab. The operator was deceased on scene. Next of kin has been notified.

Idaho State Police is investigating a multi-vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 05:15 A.M., January 7, 2022, on I-15 near milepost 62.1, south of Pocatello.

The driver of a 2020 Freightliner (Swift), pulling a single enclosed trailer was traveling southbound I-15 near milepost 62.1. The driver lost control of the Tractor Trailer. The Tractor Truck slid off the roadway on the right shoulder, jack knifing. The trailer was stopped across both southbound lanes.

The driver of a black Dodge Ram 1500 pickup saw the trailer and was able to come to a stop on the roadway. The driver of a silver GMC SUV was not able to stop, lost control of the vehicle and collided with the Ram. The GMC then slid into the back end of the trailer of the Swift Truck. The driver of a Toyota Sienna minivan also slid into the Swift trailer.

The two occupants of the Toyota, a 58-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman from Bakersfield, CA, we're transported by ground ambulance to a nearby medical center.

Traffic southbound I-15 was stopped for approximately 5 � hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.

ISP Troopers are investigating this crash. Evidence on scene indicates vehicles involved appeared to be traveling too fast for the icy conditions.
