Two Vehicle Crash in Nampa Claims a Life

Idaho State Police is investigating a fatal vehicle collision that occurred at 12:32 A.M., on January 19th, 2022, at the intersection of 11th Avenue S and 2nd Street S in Canyon County.

A Subaru BRZ, driven by a 44 year old male from Nampa, was traveling westbound on 2nd Street in Nampa when it entered the intersection at 11th Avenue. A Chevy Silverado, driven by a 33 year old male from Nampa, ran the red light at a high rate of speed headed southbound on 11th Avenue. The Chevy struck the Subaru and both vehicles left the roadway and came to a rest in a nearby business parking lot.

The driver of the Subaru succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the Chevy was arrested under charges of vehicular manslaughter and DUI. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Next of kin has been notified.

This incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
