On November 30, 2017, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash on US 93 at milepost 55.4, in Jerome, ID.

Ismael C. Marez, 52, of Kimberly, ID was attempting to make a left-hand turn from the southbound turn lane in a 2000 Ford F150 pickup. Stephanie N. Morris, 28, of Jerome, ID was driving southbound in a 1995 Toyota Camry. Morris struck the rear of Marez's vehicle.

Marez was wearing a seatbelt. In Morris's vehicle were two juvenile passengers who were also wearing seatbelts. Morris was not wearing a seatbelt, and was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls.

The southbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately one hour. Idaho State Police was assisted at the scene by Jerome County Sheriff's Department.

On Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at approximately 7:11 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury crash on US20 at milepost 28, in Caldwell.

Charles Grady, 75, of Middleton, was northbound on Midland Boulevard in a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup. Grady failed to stop completely at the stop sign. Deborah Watkins, 56, of Meridian, was eastbound on US-20 in a 2008 Toyota Highlander. The Toyota struck the Ford on the driver's side. Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Grady was transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise by ground ambulance. The road was blocked for approximately two hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

On November 29, 2017 at approximately 3:18 p.m. a non-injury crash occurred on US95 at milepot 304, eight miles south of Lewiston, Idaho. A black 2007 Hyundai Elantra driven by Elias J Moses, 50, of Lewiston, Idaho was stopped in the construction zone waiting for the road crew when a tan 2007 Chevy Impala driven by Kanin J Morrell, 21, of Lapwai, Idaho rear ended Moses. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The roadway was blocked for approximately one hour.

Update:

Traffic is now flowing following the crash on I84. David Ramsey, age 59 of Boise, was travelling eastbound on I84 just past the Meridian Rd. onramp in a Ford Taurus when he struck a Hyundai Accent driven by Jose Herrera-Ramos, age 45 of Nampa, from behind. Herrera-Ramos's vehicle then struck a Buick LeSabre driven by a minor subject, which then struck a Chevrolet Cruze driven by Rachel McConnell, age 32, of Meridian, which then struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Mandy Hiraga, age 33, also of Meridian. All drivers were wearing their seat belts. Herrera-Ramos was transported to Saint Luke's Medical Center in Meridian. The right lane of traffic was blocked for approximately one and a half hours. The investigation is ongoing.

On November 28, 2017 at 5:27 PM an injury crash occurred on US12 at milepost 18.7, near Myrtle, Idaho. A red and tan 1988 Ford Ranger pickup driven by Matthew M. Diverty, 28, of Orofino was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. As Mr. Diverty negotiated the corners at Myrtle, he lost control of his pickup, left the roadway, drove into the ditch below the westbound lane, rolled, and came to rest on Hazel Street. Mr Diverty was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the pickup. He was transported by Lifeflight to St Joseph Medical. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor. US12 was temporarily blocked for Lifeflight. The investigation continues.

On November 23, 2017, at approximately 7:13pm, the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle rollover crash on the corner of Foothill Road and N 3000 E, south of Twin Falls.

A 2011 Ford Fiesta was traveling eastbound on Foothill Road (2682 N) when the driver failed to negotiate a left turn onto N 3000 E. The vehicle traveled off the right shoulder and rolled. The driver, Alexa Brown, 18, from Twin Falls was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Both passengers, Aaron Brown, 49 and Kathy Brown, 47, both from Twin Falls, were taken by ground ambulance to St. Lukes Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls. Alexa Brown and Aaron Brown were wearing their seatbelt. Kathy Brown was not wearing a seatbelt.

N 3000 E in Twin Falls County was blocked in both directions for approximately 2 hours.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police. They were also assisted by Twin Falls County Sheriffs Office.

On November 26, 2017 at 4:59pm, a fatal crash occurred on US95 at mile marker 466 near Sagle, ID. David Bannister (68yoa, Sagle, ID) was travelling northbound on US95 at mile marker 466 when his vehicle (2012 Subaru Outback) struck a deer, launching it into the southbound lane. Charles Jungblom (70yom, Davenport, WA) was riding in the front passenger seat of his 2008 Chrysler Town & Country, also owned by Arliene Jungblom (70yoa, Davenport, WA), the driver of the van. As the van approached mile marker 466 the dear was launched through the windshield of the van, striking Charles Jungblom, and causing fatal injuries. All involved were wearing their seatbelts.

On November 26, 2017, at 4:30 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash westbound Interstate 84 at milepost 105, east of Mountain Home.

Sarah Hill, 31, of Boise, ID, was driving westbound in a 2005 Honda CRV. Mark Couch, 62, of Henderson, TX, was driving westbound in a 2017 Toyota Rav4 when he slowed for traffic. Hill struck Couch from behind, overcorrected, and rolled her vehicle. Hill's vehicle came to rest on its side blocking the westbound left lane of travel. The left lane of travel is no longer blocked.

Hill and Couch were wearing their seatbelts. The left lane of travel was blocked for approximately one and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

UPDATE:

On November 25, 2017 at approximately 5:43 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a three vehicle injury crash at the intersection of S. Indiana Ave. and Orchard Ave, in Caldwell.

Hilary A. Wennstrom, 32, of Nampa, was driving northbound on S. Indiana Avenue with two juvenile passengers in a 1992 Jeep Cherokee. Wennstrom failed to yield at the intersection and struck a 2002 Chevrolet Venture traveling eastbound on Orchard Avenue driven by Troy D. Aldous, 42, of Caldwell. Sherri E. Martin, 57, of Caldwell, was driving westbound on Orchard Avenue in a 2017 Honda CRV. Martin stopped prior to the intersection however was impacted by the vehicles after the Jeep Cherokee and Chevrolet Venture collided. The stop sign at the intersection had been knocked down by a prior crash that was being investigated by Caldwell Police Department. The intersection warning sign had not been impacted.

Wennstrom was transported by ground ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Martin was transported by ground ambulance to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell.

Wennstrom was not wearing a seatbelt. All other drivers and occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The intersection was blocked for approximately four hours.

The driver, Alexa Brown, 18, from Twin Falls was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Both passengers, Aaron Brown, 49 and Kathy Brown, 47, both from Twin Falls, were taken by ground ambulance to St. Lukes Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls. Alexa Brown and Aaron Brown were wearing their seatbelt. Kathy Brown was not wearing a seatbelt.

N 3000 E in Twin Falls County was blocked in both directions for approximately 2 hours.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

On November 23, 2017, at approximately 1:10 p.m, the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle fatality crash on Simco Road at milepost 14, west of Mountain Home. A juvenile was driving southbound on Simco Road in a 1998 Toyota Convertible when they drove off the right shoulder, overcorrected and rolled. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise where they succumbed to their injuries.

On Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 12:10 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury crash on U.S. Highway 20 near milepost 315, at the Ucon exit.

Kurtis Baker, age 21, of Ashton, was driving east on U.S. 20 in the right lane. As Baker went to make a lane change, he thought he saw another vehicle in the left lane, so he swerved to avoid it. Baker then overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, went through the median, across the westbound lanes of travel and back off the road, striking a light pole.

Baker and his juvenile passenger were transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

The westbound exit to Ucon and the right lane of travel were blocked for about 90 minutes while crews worked to clear the scene.

On November 20th, 2017, at 6:45 pm, the Idaho State Police dispatch center received a call from concern family members of an overdue motorist. Robert R. Westbrook, 73, of Smelterville, Idaho, failed to return home from a medical appointment in Hayden, Idaho. The Idaho State Police dispatch center issued an attempt to locate for Mr. Westbrook and dispatched troopers to the areas to which he would have been traveling. Utilizing Mr. Westbrook's cell phone, the cell carrier was contacted and a trace of Mr. Westbrook's phone was attempted. The last location was in the Harrison/Rose Lake area on SH97 and SH3 on the evening of November 20th. The search for Mr. Westbrook continued into the next day as the Idaho State Police and Kootenai County Sheriff began searching all roads in the area for any sign of Mr. Westbrook's vehicle. An Idaho State Trooper was traveling on SH3 at approximately 7:45 pm, when he noticed tire tracks leading over an steep embankment. He stopped to investigate further and located Mr. Westbrook's vehicle, a tan 2008 Ford F350 pick-up. Mr. Westbrook had been ejected from the vehicle was found deceased at the scene. It was determined that Mr. Westbrook was southbound on SH3 near milepost 94, just north of the Kootenai/Benewah County lines, when he failed to negotiate a right hand curve, went left of center and off the left shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle then went over the embankment and struck a large tree, coming to rest on it's roof. Mr. Westbrook was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Next of kin has been notified and an autopsy will be performed to determine time of death. Investigation is continuing.

On Saturday, November 11, 2017, at approximately 9:29 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle fatality crash at the intersection of 150 W and 100 N, in Jerome County.

Shentasha L. Bybee, 20, of Rexburg, was driving a 2007 BMW 328 northbound on 150 W. Luis V. Ortiz Vega, 48, of Jerome, was driving a 2006 Dodge Caravan eastbound on 100 N. Bybee failed to yield for a stop sign and collided with Ortiz Vega's vehicle.

Bybee was transported via ground ambulance to St. Luke's in Jerome. Bybee and her passengers Michael J. Wornell, 29, of Twin Falls, along with Cole A. Hatcher, 23, of Jerome, were transported via air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Ortiz Vega and two juveniles were transported via air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. One Juvenile was transported to St. Luke's in Jerome. One juvenile succumbed to injuries at the hospital. Martina E. Rivera Sandoval, 44, of Jerome, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Next of kin have been notified.

The intersection was blocked for approximately five and a half hours.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Idaho State Police was assisted by Jerome Police Department, Jerome Sheriff's Office, Jerome County Rural Fire Department, Magic Valley paramedics, Life Flight Network, and Air Saint Luke's.

The vehicle was travelling too fast for the roadway and conditions, causing it to overturn, losing its load of lumber. On November 17, 2017, at approximately 10:12 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash eastbound US26 at milepost 347, near Ririe.

Devin Newman, 18, of Idaho Falls, ID, was driving eastbound US26 in a 2004 Nissan Sentra. Newman drove off the left shoulder and collided with a manure spreader. Newman was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

Newman was not wearing a seatbelt. The Idaho State Police reminds drivers to wear your seatbelt and be an alert driver.

The Idaho State Police was assisted by Bonneville County Sheriff's Office and Iona Police Department.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

At 2:22 this morning, November 16, 2017, the Idaho State Police investigated a crash Northbound on I15 at milepost 90, near Blackfoot. Challis Haumont, age 30, of Buhl, was driving northbound in a Peterbuilt semi pulling a trailer. Another semi was stopped on the right side of the road when the driver of the semi pulled in front of Haumont in order to illegally use the median crossover. Haumont swerved to avoid a collision and went into the median, where his vehicle overturned. He was transported by ground ambulance to Bingham Memorial in Blackfoot. Haumont was not wearing his seatbelt. The crash is still under investigation.

On Monday, November 13, 2017, at approximately 6:46 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash westbound State Highway 25 at milepost 7, in Jerome. Natasha Southwick, 39, of Jerome, was traveling westbound on State Highway 25 in a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. Charles Mitani, 61, of Jerome, was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus eastbound on E 100 S and stopped at the stop sign. Mitani pulled out in front of Southwick. Southwick struck the rear of Mitani's vehicle. Southwick lost control of her vehicle and rolled, ejecting Southwick.

Southwick was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Mitani was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

State Highway 25 was blocked for approximately and hour and half. The westbound lane remained blocked for another approximate hour while crews worked to clear the crash.

The Idaho State Police was assisted by Jerome County Sheriff's Office, Magic Valley Paramedics, and Jerome Rural Fire. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

In recent weeks, ISP has received reports of several vehicles in Canyon and Ada Counties being tagged with graffiti, specifically using the words "Sniff" or "Sniffy." A suspect has been arrested and charged with these crimes, but ISP does not yet know the full extent of the damage to other vehicles as Troopers carry out the investigation and build the case.

On Thursday, November 9, 2017, at approximately 11:27 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle injury crash on State Highway 33 at milepost 132, in Tetonia.

Daniel Singh, 32, of Tetonia, was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla, west bound on State Highway 33 near milepost 132 when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The vehicle traveled through a ditch, went airborne, hit a power pole, a fence, before coming to rest on another fence. Singh was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Singh was transported by ground ambulance to Teton Valley Hospital and later transferred to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

Power was briefly disrupted, but has since been restored. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police with the assistance from the Teton County Sheriff's Office.

On November 9th, 2017 at approximately 10:12 AM a non-injury blocking crash occurred on US12 at milepost 22.9, east of Lewiston. A red 2007 Kenworth semi tractor with an empty log trailer driven by Jacob W. Baldwin, 45, of Kooskia, Idaho was traveling Eastbound when Mr. Baldwin became distracted, drove off the right shoulder, over corrected, and rolled the semi onto its side on US12. Mr. Baldwin was wearing his seatbelt. The highway was blocked for approximately 4 1/2 hours. The investigation is on-going.

On November 6, 2017, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on US 20 at milepost 315 (Ucon Exit), in Bonneville County, Idaho.

Citlali L. Flores, 21, of St. Anthony, ID., was driving eastbound on US 20 in a 2005 Honda Accord. As Flores drove on top of the Ucon overpass, she lost control of her vehicle on the icy surface. Flores' vehicle hit the guardrail, then came to rest in the right hand lane. Randy K. Thompson, 20, of Rigby, ID. was driving eastbound on US 20, in the right hand lane, in a 1989 GMC Jimmy. Thompson swerved to avoid the Honda, but struck it, then went into the median.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Flores was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. The eastbound lanes were blocked for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

On November 6, 2017, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on US 26 near milepost 339 (Crowley Rd.) in Bonneville County, ID.

Yoena Franco, 31, of Idaho Falls, ID was attempting to make a left-hand turn into a driveway, from the eastbound lane of US 26, in a 2006 Nissan Altima. Lester E. Cox, 53, of Idaho Falls, ID was driving eastbound in a 1997 Geo Metro. Cox failed to yield to Franco, striking the rear of Franco's vehicle.

Franco and Cox each had a juvenile passenger in their vehicles. All four subjects were transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. The road was blocked for approximately 45 minutes.

Idaho State Police Road Safe November 11th

The Idaho State Police will be holding a Road Safe Class for the 2017/2018 winter driving season on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The class will be held at the Idaho State Police District 1 Office located at 615 West Wilbur Avenue in Coeur d Alene (Meeting Room A & B).

This is the fifteenth year this award-winning program has been offered to the public.

This is presented in a classroom setting designed to educate drivers of all ages (teens, adults and seniors), on the typical problems associated with winter road conditions in Idaho. The class consists of a PowerPoint presentation and video giving safe driving tips, as well as suggestions to prepare for the winter driving season. Other topics discussed will be how to deal with aggressive drivers, DUIs, and other driving problems and situations encountered on the roadways. The class will last for approximately 3 hours. There is no cost for the class.

Update

On Friday, November 3, 2017 at approximately 11:53 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle crash westbound SH78 at milepost 23, in Owyhee county.

Glen T. Welch, 72, of Caldwell, was driving a 2018 Freightliner Tractor pulling a trailer filled with sugar beets. The vehicle veered into the shoulder, overcorrected, and rolled onto its side where it came to rest across both lanes of travel. Welch was wearing a seatbelt.

The lanes were blocked for approximately 4 hours.

On November 3, 2017, at approximately 3:52 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle injury crash southbound on Interstate 15 at milepost 145, south of Hamer. Jeffrey Watkins, 74, of Lolo, Montana, was traveling southbound in a 2008 Nissan Frontier when he fell asleep. Watkins drove off the left shoulder into the median, back onto the southbound lane, where he overcorrected and rolled into the median.

Watkins was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Watkins passenger, Bonnie Watkins, 73, of Lolo, Montana, was transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Both Jeffrey and Bonnie Watkins were wearing seatbelts. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

On November 3rd, 2017 at approximately 12:52 p.m., a fatal crash occurred on Highway 95 at milepost 478.5, in Sandpoint, Idaho. A silver 2000 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Susan L. Rogers, 74, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, was traveling north when she lost control on the slick roadway and went into the southbound lane. A white 2015 Isuzu Tractor Trailer, driven by William R. Lawson, 64, of Spokane, Washington was traveling south when his vehicle struck Roger's vehicle on the passenger side. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Rogers was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is continuing. The roadway was blocked for three hours.

News release - Idaho State Police arrest two more suspects in the Owyhee County murder investigation that began on Oct. 21

Idaho State Police detectives yesterday arrested two more suspects in the murder investigation that began on Oct. 21 when hunters discovered a deceased male in Owyhee County.
Nicholas B. Vandenberg, 27, of Melba, Idaho has already been charged with first degree murder in that investigation.

On Oct. 31, 2017, Idaho State Police arrested two more suspects and charged each with Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder.
They are:
- Montanna Rae Reed, 20, of Twin Falls (female)
- Willie Keith Rabey, 34, of Mountain Home

The two suspects are known associates of Vandenberg. ISP detectives arrested Reed in Twin Falls and Rabey in Mountain Home. They are currently being arraigned in those two cities and will be extradited Owyhee County Jail, however, a specific date/time for that extradition is not firm.

Note to reporters: Photographs of the two suspects are not yet available - reporters should check with the Owyhee County Jail for booking photos.

On October 31, 2017, at approximately 4:57 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on State Highway 55/Karcher Road and Celeste Ave in Canyon County. Melissa Book, 33, of Nampa, was traveling southbound on Celeste Avenue in a 2005 Honda Pilot when she came to the intersection of Celeste Avenue and State Highway 55. Traffic was stopped on State Highway 55 when Book saw a gap in traffic and proceeded to turn east onto State Highway 55. Karla Lucas, 30, of Meridian, was traveling eastbound on State Highway 55 in a 2011 Mazda Mz3 when her vehicle was struck by Book's vehicle.

Lucas and a juvenile passenger were transported by ground ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Lucas and her two juvenile passengers were not wearing seatbelts. Lucas'ss passenger Ricky Lemmons, 63, of Hagerman, and Book, were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
