Delayed release for the 2017 "Crime in Idaho" publication.

Immediate release, June 27, 2018
Contact: Tim Marsano, ISP PIO, 208.884.7122

The Idaho State Police must delay the release of the 2017 "Crime in Idaho" publication until September 1. While it is normally released on July 1 each year, factors beyond our control necessitate the later release. Our state recently replaced its National Incident-based Reporting System (NIBRS) repository system with a premier, state-of-the-art system which is working well. However, we discovered that when the data was converted from the old, outdated system, some of the data did not import in a way that is compatible with the new system. Our staff is running reports and manually sorting through the data to ensure all information is reported correctly. For interested media outlets and others, please stand by for the announcement of when the 2017 Crime in Idaho report is released, which we anticipate will occur on Sep. 1.
