On Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at approximately 12:27 a.m., The Idaho State Police investigated a vehicle versus a pedestrian fatality crash, on 2nd St. South and Chicago St. in Nampa.

Brian I. Navarrete, 18, of Caldwell, was driving eastbound on 2nd St. South when he struck Michael E. Marchant, 51, of Nampa, who was walking in the lane of travel. Marchant succumbed to his injuries on scene. Navarrete was wearing a seatbelt.

Next of kin has been notified.

The crash is still under investigation by Idaho State Police.
