On Monday, November 13, 2017, at approximately 6:46 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash westbound State Highway 25 at milepost 7, in Jerome. Natasha Southwick, 39, of Jerome, was traveling westbound on State Highway 25 in a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. Charles Mitani, 61, of Jerome, was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus eastbound on E 100 S and stopped at the stop sign. Mitani pulled out in front of Southwick. Southwick struck the rear of Mitani's vehicle. Southwick lost control of her vehicle and rolled, ejecting Southwick.

Southwick was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Mitani was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

State Highway 25 was blocked for approximately and hour and half. The westbound lane remained blocked for another approximate hour while crews worked to clear the crash.

The Idaho State Police was assisted by Jerome County Sheriff's Office, Magic Valley Paramedics, and Jerome Rural Fire. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
