On August 17, 2015, at approximately 11:49 A.M., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on eastbound Interstate 84 at milepost 51, in Boise.

Frank Cordoba, 58, of Aloha, Oregon, was stationary on the right shoulder in a 2016 Freightliner Tractor. Alejandro Juarez, 19, of Meridian, was traveling eastbound in a 2014 Nissan Quest van. Juarez drove off the right shoulder and struck the rear of the 2016 Freightliner. Both Juarez and Cordoba were transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Cordoba was wearing his seatbelt. It is unknown if Juarez was wearing a seatbelt. The two right lanes were blocked for approximately a hour and a half. This crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
