At 06:04 am, on May 22,2020, the Idaho State Police was requested to respond to a crash on Chase Road, just north of Seltice Way in Post Falls. Steven A. Smith, 48 yoa, of Post Falls, driving a blue 2007 Honda CRV, rolled through the parking lot on the southwest corner of Chase Road and Seltice Way, came across Chase Road and stopped at Cornerstone Christian Academy. Post Falls Police were first on scene and performed life saving measures on Mr. Smith. He was transported to Kootenai Health were he was later pronounced deceased. There was minimal damage done to Mr. Smith's vehicle or Cornerstone Christian Academy. The crash is believed to be medically related but is still under investigation.
