**Update**

On Thursday, May 7, 2020, at approximately 4:30 P.M., Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle, fatality crash, on State Highway 16 at milepost 111, south of Emmett.

Ronald Burlile, 61, of Star, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe southbound on State Highway 16. Christian Mehiel, 20, of Caldwell, was also traveling southbound in a 2012 Freightliner truck. Buhlile collided with Mehiel as Buhlile attempted to pass on the passenger side, using the slow moving turnout lane. Burlile's vehicle rolled, and landed in the middle of the northbound and southbound lanes.

Burlile was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene; he was not wearing a seatbelt. Next of kin has been notified. A juvenile passenger was wearing their seatbelt, and was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, in Boise. Mehiel was wearing his seatbelt and was not transported.

State Highway 16 was blocked for approximately three and a half hours.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
