Crash Near Bruneau Sends Three to Hospital

On May 27, 2020, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash approximately 1.3 miles south of State Highway 78 on Mormon Boulevard. This is near Bruneau in Owyhee County.

Richard L. Thunderhorse, 23, of McDermitt, NV, was driving southbound on Mormon Boulevard in a 2001 Ford F150 pickup. Jose Rivera Rodriguez, 44, of Grandview, ID, was driving northbound on Mormon Boulevard in a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu. Approximately 1.3 miles south of State Highway 78, the vehicles collided.

Also in Thunderhorse's vehicle were Valentina E. Horn, 26, of Owyhee, NV, and two minors.

Thunderhorse was not wearing a seatbelt. Thunderhorse, Rivera Rodriguez, and Horn were transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID.

Mormon Boulevard was blocked in the area of the crash for approximately five and a half hours.

The crash investigation is continuing.
