On July 2, 2016 at 2:05am, Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle injury crash on Cascade Road near Union Road west of Emmett.

James P. Smith, 26, of Emmett, was driving westbound on Cascade Road in a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo. Smith drove off the road, overcorrected, and rolled the vehicle. The vehicle came to rest on its roof.

Smith was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
