***Update***

On July 1, 2019, at approximately 3:50 P.M., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle fatality crash on westbound Interstate 84 at the 26 off ramp to Notus and Parma, west of Caldwell.

Salvador Gamez, 54, of Reno, Nevada, was driving westbound on I84 in a 2016 Freight Tractor pulling one trailer. Gamez took exit 26 and slowed for the upcoming stop. Luis Cepeda, 22, of Nampa, Idaho, was driving westbound on I84 in a 2007 Ford Explorer. Cepeda failed to yield to slowing traffic and collided with the back of Gamez's trailer. Cepeda was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. Gamez was wearing a seatbelt.

The westbound I84 26 off ramp was blocked for approximately 3 hours.
