***** Updated Details *****
On Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 1:57 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash on eastbound I84 at milepost 78.
Pavel Priymak, 52, of Vancouver, WA, was traveling eastbound on I84 in the right lane at approximately milepost 78, east of the Boise Stage Stop, east of Boise, in a 2002 Volvo semi-truck pulling a trailer. Priymak was slowing for traffic, which was slowing or stopped due to an earlier crash, eastbound on I84 at milepost 81.
As Priymak slowed, Antonio Vega, 23, of Twin Falls, was traveling behind Priymak in a 2004 Mack concrete pump truck, and struck the rear of Priymak's semi-truck and trailer. Priymak's semi was pushed into 3 vehicles in front of him, and sideswiped a SUV traveling in the left lane next to his semi.
The three vehicles in front of Priymak's semi were a 2004 Mazda MZ3, driven by a juvenile, a 2012 Dodge dually pickup, driven by Steven Dunbar, 54, of Ligonier, IN, and a 2009 GMC Yukon, driven by Pamela Palacios, 52, of Poway, CA. The SUV in the left lane was a 2008 Infinity FX3 driven by Svetlana Movsesyan, 64, of Twin Falls. All vehicles remained upright, and came to rest blocking the eastbound lanes of travel.
Antonio Vega was transported via air ambulance, and Steven Dunbar via ground ambulance, to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. All other occupants in the vehicles were uninjured. The eastbound lanes of travel were completely blocked for approximately 4 hours, and the right lane remained blocked for an additional 1.5 hours, while the crash was investigated and crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
At this time all eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 are open. More information will be released as it becomes available.
