Injury Crash in Nampa Sends Three To Hospital

On Friday, June 23, 2017, at 8:08 pm, Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash westbound on I84 at mile marker 33, near the Karcher Bypass.

Alexander J. Whiteaker, 18, of Parma, ID, was driving westbound on I84 in a 1992 Geo Metro. Gabe E. Slettebo, 43, of Kuna, ID, was stopped in traffic due to construction. Whiteaker failed to stop and impacted the rear of Slettebo's vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest in the median and the Geo Metro caught fire. The fire was quickly extinguished.

Slettebo, who was wearing his seatbelt, was transported by ground ambulance to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, ID. Whiteaker and a passenger in his vehicle, Destiny S. Lopez, 20, of Caldwell, ID, were transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Nampa, ID. Neither were wearing their seatbelts.
