On June 18, 2017, at approximately 2:55 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle motorcycle crash westbound Interstate 84 at milepost 22, west of Caldwell.

Carl Edmiston, age 50, of Melba, ID, was driving westbound Interstate 84 on a 2007 Honda motorcycle when the back tire blew out. Edmiston lost control of his motorcycle and came to rest in a ditch on the right shoulder. Edmiston and his passenger, Devin Edmiston, age 19, of Melba, ID, were transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID.

The right lane of westbound Interstate 84 was blocked for approximately one hour while crews worked to clear the scene. Devin Edmiston was wearing a helmet, Carl Edmiston was not wearing a helmet.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
