On Sunday, June 18, 2017, at approximately 12:42 P.M., Idaho State Police investigated a fatal crash on US30 at milepost 360, near McCammon, ID.

A juvenile was driving westbound on US30 in a red 1999 Chevrolet C1500 pickup truck. The pickup crossed the center line into the eastbound lane of travel and collided with a white 2011 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Jay Lanningham, age 70, of Nampa, ID.

The juvenile driver and a juvenile passenger in the red Chevrolet pickup succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash, along with Lanningham. Lanningham had a juvenile passenger who was transported by air ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID. All occupants were wearing a seatbelt.

Both lanes of travel were blocked for approximately five and a half hours.

At this time, Idaho State Police, as well other emergency personnel from the Bannock County area are on scene of a two-vehicle, head-on crash on U.S. 30 at milepost 361, just east of McCammon. There are confirmed fatalities and the highway is completely blocked while the investigation continues. A detour for traffic has been put in place around the scene.
