On July 1, 2019, at approximately 5:36. P.M., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle property damage crash on westbound Interstate 84 at milepost 27, in Caldwell.

Susan Hadley, 50, of Boise, was driving westbound on I84 in a 2013 Mazda CX5. Ricardo Cruz, 22, of Ontario, Oregon, was also driving westbound on I84 in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up. Hadley failed to yield to oncoming traffic while changing lanes from the right lane to the left lane. Traffic was slowed due to a crash further ahead. Cruz collided with the rear of the 2013 Mazda CX5. All occupants were wearing a seatbelt.

Westbound I84 was blocked for approximately one hour.
