On August 8th, 2021 at approximately 3:06 pm the Idaho State Police responded to an injury crash northbound on US95 at Schell Road in Sagle. A 14 year old juvenile male was riding southbound on the shoulder on a 2003 Honda motorcycle when he attempted to cross the highway going eastbound. Robert Smith, 62 years old of Newman Lake, WA, was travelling southbound on US95 in a red 1999 Ford F350 and was struck by the motorcycle on the passenger side. The juvenile was wearing a helmet, and Smith was wearing a seatbelt. The juvenile was transported by air ambulance, and Smith was not injured. The investigation is ongoing.
