On August 6th, 2021, at approximately 1:24 A.M., Idaho State Police investigated a commercial-vehicle crash, eastbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 45, in Meridian.

Criswell Madziwa, 40, of San Bernadino, California, was travelling eastbound in a 2009 International Prostar semi-truck. A tire blew, and Madziw's vehicle veered into the barrier, rupturing the fuel tank, catching the semi on fire, as well as igniting a small brush fire.

All eastbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately 2.5 hours, and the right two lanes remained blocked for an additional 1.5 hours while crews investigated the crash and cleaned the roadway.
