On May 14th, 2021, at approximately 9:54 A.M., the Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash eastbound on SH50 near milepost 3.9, east of Kimberly. Maria Del Carmen Barrios, 29, of Twin Falls, was driving eastbound on SH50 in a 2015 Chrysler 200. Barrios fell asleep and drifted off the right shoulder, striking a guardrail head-on. Barrios' vehicle spun back onto the roadway crossing over into westbound lanes of traffic coming to a stop. Barrios was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley. Barrios was wearing a seatbelt. Lanes were blocked for approximately 25 minutes.
