*** Update ***

On Sunday, December 20, 2015 at approximately 10:06 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a three-vehicle, fatal crash northbound on I-15 at milepost 110, two miles north of Shelley.

Christopher Hansen, 21, of Idaho Falls, was northbound on I-15 in a 1989 Toyota pickup. When Hansen slowed down due to road conditions, the Toyota pickup was struck by a 2007 Toyota Corolla from behind, driven by Timothy Wight, 42, of Idaho Falls. The Toyota pickup came to rest on the right shoulder. The Toyota Corolla was then struck by a 1999 Lexus RX 300 from behind. The Lexus was being driven by Eva Larsen, 35, of Boise. The Toyota Corolla came to rest on the right shoulder, and the Lexus came to rest in the right northbound lane.

Both Hansen and Larsen were wearing their seatbelts. Wight was not. Neither Larsen nor Hansen was transported to the hospital. Wight succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

The right northbound lane was blocked for approximately three-and-a-half hours while crews worked to clear the scene. Next of kin has been notified.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

The Idaho State Police was assisted by Bingham County Sheriff's Office.
