On December 7, 2015, at approximately 1:15 p.m., Lauren K. Robideaux, 18, of Hailey, was traveling in a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on State Highway 75, at milepost 125, just south of Ketchum. There was traffic control set up for a prior crash in the area and the highway was reduced to a single lane. Robideaux lost control on the icy roadway and slid into the closed southbound lane, striking Blaine County Deputy Philip Rummel, who was investigating the existing crash. Robideaux's vehicle then struck a 2012 Ford pickup, a Blaine County Sheriff?s Office vehicle that was set up for traffic control. The pickup was unoccupied when it was struck.

Deputy Rummel was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in Ketchum and was released with minor injuries.

Robideaux was wearing a seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries in the crash.

This crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
