On December 1, 2015, at approximately 10:10 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 95 near milepost 77, at the intersection of US-95 and Crystal Lane. William Hale, 54, and his passenger, Melissa Hale, 51, both of Weiser, were northbound on US-95 in a 2003 Ford Ranger. Mary Beals, 48, of Caldwell, was westbound on Crystal Lane in a 2003 Kia Sedona. Beals slowed, but failed to stop at a stop sign, and turned southbound onto US-95. The Sedona collided head-on with the Ford Ranger.

Airbags deployed in both vehicles. Mary Beals had two passengers - Sabrina and Daniel Beals, 23 and 28 respectively, both of Caldwell. All three were uninjured in the crash. Melissa Hale was transported by ground ambulance to Weiser Memorial, where she was treated and released. Seatbelts were worn by all.

Both north and southbound lanes of US-95 were blocked for almost three hours while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
