On Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 26 (Swan Valley Highway) near milepost 361, about 10 miles east of Ririe.

Joshua Ceci, age 38, of Idaho Falls, was driving westbound in a 1996 Subaru Legacy wagon. Michael Murphy, age 50, of Driggs, was driving eastbound in a 1994 GMC Sierra pickup. Ceci crossed the center line, nearly off the south side of the road. He then corrected his vehicle back to the right and collided head-on with Murphy's vehicle in the eastbound lane.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and both were transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

The lanes of U.S. 26 were blocked for about 2 hours while crews worked to clear the scene. The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police. The Idaho State Police was assisted by Bonneville County Sheriff's deputies, Ririe Quick Response Unit, Idaho Falls Ambulance, and Idaho Transportation Department.
