On July 4th, 2019 at approximately 10:48 p.m., the Idaho State Police responded to an injury crash northbound US95 at Sunup Bay Road. Nancy Streich, 62, of Spokane, WA, was travelling westbound on Sunup Bay Road in a black 2013 Chevy Silverado. Streich failed to stop at the posted stop sign and collided with Donald Merica, 60, of Post Falls, who was travelling northbound on US95 in a blue 2008 Honda Civic. Streich's vehicle came to rest in the ditch while Merica's came to rest in the northbound lane of US95. Merica was transported to Kootenai Medical Center. The roadway was blocked for one and a half hours. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not a factor. The investigation is continuing.
