Saturday, June 29, 2019, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury crash at the intersection of Main St. and W. Lewis St., in Pocatello.

Marco Rosas-Alicea, 24, of Pocatello, was driving a 2004 Hyundai Elantra eastbound on W Lewis. Sgt. B Harris, of Pocatello Police Department, was driving northbound on Main St. in a marked 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe police vehicle. Rosas-Alicea failed to stop at a red light. The Hyundai entered the intersection and struck the Tahoe. Both vehicles came to rest in the intersection.

Rosas-Alicea and his passenger, Luis Gonzales, 29, of Pocatello, were wearing seatbelts. Gonzales was transported via ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center. Rosas-Alicea was arrested for DUI.

The intersection was blocked for one hour while crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
