On Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 8:21pm, Idaho State Police investigated a fatality crash eastbound US30 at mile marker 191.6, south of Hagerman, ID.

Angel Chavez Tafoya, 27, of Buhl, ID, was driving eastbound on US30 in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Chavez Tafoya attempted to make a U-turn and failed to yield to Dale Adams, 72, of Buhl, ID, driving a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle, also traveling eastbound on US30. Adams motorcycle struck the front left portion of Chavez Tafoya's vehicle.

Adams was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, ID, and succumbed to his injuries. Chavez Tafoya was not transported. Shirley Cegelis, 53, of Paisley, OR, a passenger on the motorcycle, was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID. Chavez Tafoya was wearing his seatbelt and Cegelis was wearing a helmet. It is unknown if Adams was wearing his helmet at this time.

All lanes of US30 are open.

Twin Falls County Sheriff's Department assisted with this crash.

Idaho State Police is on scene of a crash on US30 at mile marker 190.5, south of Hagerman.

At this time, both lanes are completely blocked. Motorists should expect delays.
