On April 1, 2015, at approximately 11:42 A.M., Idaho State Police investigated a five vehicle injury crash on Interstate 84 near milepost 27, in Canyon County.

David Gonzalez, 24, of Wilder, ID, was driving east on I84 near milepost 27 in a 1994 Honda Accord. Gonzalez slowed to a stop due to construction in the area. Andrew Deckard, 41, of Eagle, ID, was also traveling east on I84 in a 2007 Freightliner Tow Truck. Deckard failed to stop for traffic and collided into the back of the 1994 Honda Accord. The Impact of the crash pushed the Honda Accord into a 2012 Toyota Sequoia driven by Anthony Galloway, 38, of Anchorage, AK.

After the initial impact of Deckard's collision he drove into the left lane, overcorrected and veered in to the right lane colliding with a 2008 Peterbilt Semi pulling a 2013 Utility Trailer. The Peterbilt was driven by Roderick Smith, 65, of Wilder, ID.

Galen Cowger, 26, of Wilder, ID, attempted to avoid the collision between the Tow truck and the Peterbilt in a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500, but was struck by the Tow Truck.

Occupants of the crash were transported by ground ambulance to both St Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, and West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell.

East I84 was blocked for approximately 4 hours.
