Injury Crash in Canyon County Sends 9 People to Local Hospitals

On July 7, 2013, Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle injury crash at the intersection of Orchard Avenue and Lake Avenue in Canyon County. Kayla Bartrop, 18, of Marsing, was driving west on Orchard Avenue in a 2000 Chrysler Voyager van. Randell Romans, 54, of Nampa, was driving south on Lake Avenue in a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup. Bartrop failed to yield the right of way to Romans. The vehicles collided in the intersection.

In Bartrop's vehicle were Krisa L. Petrowske, 40, of Marsing, ID, and a minor passenger. Bartrop and the minor passenger were transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Regional Medical Center on 12th St. in Nampa, ID. Petrowske was transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID.

In Romans' vehicle were Sarah N. Defur, 31, of Nampa, ID., Thomas E. Defur, 32, of Nampa, ID., Pamela K. Romans, 56, of, Nampa, ID, and 2 minor children. Randell Romans was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke?s Regional Medical Center on St. Luke's Drive in Nampa, ID. Sarah and Thomas Defur, and two minor children, were transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in downtown Boise. Pamela Romans was transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID.

All subjects in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts. The crash investigation is continuing.
