On Wednesday, July 3, 2013, the Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle injury crash on US 30 just south of Murtaugh. Ludell Reese, 38 years old from Utah, was driving a tanker truck loaded with milk west on US 30 at the 240 mile marker. Reese went off the right shoulder of the road and lost control of the trailer. The trailer rolled, pulling the truck with it going through three power poles before coming to rest on its top against the third pole. Several power lines came down around the area as well as on the truck. Reese was transported to Portneuf Medical in Pocatello, by air ambulance. US 30 has been closed in both directions since 10:30 this morning. It will remain closed for several more hours, while Idaho Power works on replacing the power poles and getting the power lines back up. The crash is still under investigation.
