At 3:02 a.m., on November 11, 2013, the Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle fatality crash eastbound on US26 near milepost 348, just west of Ririe.
Tay W. Misseldine, 23, of Idaho Falls, was eastbound on US26 when at the intersection of 115th East and US26 he drifted off the right shoulder and overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to rotate counter clockwise and cross the highway. Misseldine left the north side US26, struck a highway sign, went through a fence, down the embankment of a gravel pit and overturned. Misseldine was not wearing his seatbelt and was thrown about the interior of his vehicle. Misseldine succumbed to his injuries at the scene. There were no witnesses to the crash but was reported by a passerby.
Idaho State Police investigators learned that Misseldine was a suspect in a stabbing in Idaho Falls the previous evening and had led Idaho Falls Police and Bonneville County Deputies in a short pursuit. The pursuit was discontinued because the identity of the driver, Misseldine was known.
Next of kin have been notified.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police and assisted by The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.
