On September 20, 2011 at approximately 3:05 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle crash on Interstate 15 at milepost 83, between Ft. Hall and Blackfoot, ID.

Micah Story, 17, of Chubbuck, ID was traveling north on Interstate 15 at milepost 83 in a 2002 Ford Mustang. Jacob Colbo, 18, of Blackfoot, ID was a passenger in Story's vehicle. For unknown reasons, Story left the roadway from the left shoulder and drove through the median. As Story's vehicle was re-entering the roadway into the southbound traffic lanes, it overturned and was struck by a semi truck. The semi truck was being operated by George Hernandez, 57, of Heyburn, ID.

Story and Colbo were pronounced dead at the crash scene. Colbo was wearing a seatbelt. It is unknown whether or not Story was wearing a seatbelt. Hernandez was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Northbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately two hours. Southbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately four hours.
