Troopers search for Witnesses after Oregon Man Arrested for DUI, Eluding, Agg Assault
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Idaho State Police Troopers arrested an Oregon man after a pursuit on the Interstate that began with the suspect reportedly throwing rocks at passing cars.

What Happened: Saturday, July 24, at approximately 4:55 p.m., Idaho State Troopers and Canyon County Deputies responded to a citizen report of a man throwing rocks at cars on Interstate 84 just west of Caldwell. When Canyon County Deputies arrived and tried to make contact with the man, he fled from the scene in his pick-up. ISP Troopers and Deputies with Canyon and Payette Counties tried to get the man to stop including deploying spike strips. But the driver continued on, crossed through the center median of the interstate several times, and at one point, swerved his pick-up toward a Trooper's vehicle. A Trooper was successful using a pursuit intervention technique which brought the suspect vehicle to a stop. The driver was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Payette County Jail.

Arrested: Cesar Pedraza, 21, Nyssa, OR
Charged: DUI (m)
Eluding an Officer (F)
Aggravated Assault (F)

The investigation into the incident is continuing.

Witnesses: Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed the man throwing rocks at cars on Interstate 84 near milepost 22, that's near the Galloway Road and the Purple Sage Road overpasses, Saturday at approximately 4:45 to 4:55 p.m., to please call ISP dispatch at 208-846-7550.
