On Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 4:49 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on eastbound I84 at approximately milepost 116.5, east of Hammett.

Indiana R. Rosewood, 29, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was travelling eastbound in the single-lane construction on I84 at milepost 116.5 in a Freightliner semi-truck pulling a trailer. Rosewood went off the shoulder, overcorrected, and crossed the center line. Rosewood's trailer struck the semi-truck cab of John A. Shirley, 57, of Las Vegas, Nevada, who was travelling westbound in a Volvo semi-truck pulling a trailer on I84, also at milepost 116.5. Rosewood's trailer broke open, spilling packages of soda over the roadway and Shirley's cab overturned.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts. Rosewood was transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise by air ambulance. Rosewood's passenger, Taveonna N. Sydney, 22, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was transported to Saint Luke's Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance. Shirley was transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise by ground ambulance.

All lanes were blocked for approximately 4 hours. The eastbound lanes were blocked for an additional hour so the Idaho Department of Transportation could make repairs on the roadway.
