On Monday, September 3, 2018, at approximately 6:35 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle, fatality crash, on SH-21 at milepost 82, east of Lowman.

A 2004 Ford Ranger was driving southbound on SH-21 towing a trailer when it drove off the shoulder, overcorrected and rolled.

Austin Smith, 18, of Nampa, was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A juvenile was transported via air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Region Medical Center in Boise.

The road was blocked in both directions for approximately six and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

Next of kin have been notified.
