On March 31, 2015, at approximately 9:38 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle crash on State Highway 16 at State Highway 44, near Star. Henry Schwass, 66 of Nampa, was headed northbound on State Highway 16 at the intersection of State Highway 44, in a 2015 Ford F650 truck, when he failed to stop for the traffic light. Schwass was struck by a 2001 Kenworth truck, heading westbound on State Highway 44, driven by Bruce Koonce, 55 of Caldwell. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Schwass was transported by private vehicle to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. Schwass was cited for inattentive/careless driving.
