On Friday March 20, 2015, at approximately 7:42 a.m. the Idaho State Police investigated a motorcycle-involved, multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 84 near milepost 50, in Boise. Stephan Manning, 29, of Nampa was eastbound in a 2000 Hyundai Sonata. Craig Hoyt, 43, of Meridian, was traveling in a 1998 Ford Contour. Jesse Watkins, 43, of Boise was riding a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Watkins was in the lane between both Manning and Hoyt's vehicles. Hoyt attempted to change lanes to his left which was occupied by Watkins. Watkins reacted to avoid being struck by Hoyt's vehicle, and sideswiped Manning's vehicle on the right side. Watkins lost control of the motorcycle, and it overturned, throwing him from it.

Watkins was transported by ground ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Watkins was wearing a helmet and had other protective gear on. Manning and Hoyt were wearing seatbelts. The roadway was blocked for approximately 45 minutes. The crash is still under investigation.
