On August 17, 2011 at 6:48 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a three vehicle injury crash on US95 at mile marker 82.1, just north of Weiser.

Franklin G. Fesler, 66 of Albany, OR, was traveling southbound on US95 in a 2009 Kia Rondo. Vernon H Drain, 75 of Homedale, was traveling northbound on US95 in a 1991 Chevrolet pickup pulling a 1968 Kit Manufacturing camper trailer. Lucia M. Rowett, 40 of Payette, was also traveling northbound behind Drain in a 2007 Kia Rondo. Fesler crossed over the center line, sideswiped Drain's camper trailer and struck Rowett head on.

Fesler and Rowett were both transported by ground ambulance to Weiser Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Drain and his passenger were not injured in the crash. All occupants were wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol is not a factor in this crash.

US95 was blocked while crews worked to remove the wreckage. Idaho Department of Transportation provided traffic control diverting traffic around the crash scene.

This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Corporal Nauman was assisted by Trooper Higley and Weiser County Sheriff Deputies, EMS, and Fire.
