On Friday, September 4, 2020, at 8:53 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash at North 1150 East and East 781 North, west of Minidoka.

Lawrence B. Bakelar, 66, of Rupert, was driving southbound on North 1150 East in a side-by-side UTV when he left the roadway and struck two trees.

Bakelar and his passenger, Anthony J. Cecconi. 32, of Reno, NV, were transported by ground ambulance to Minidoka Memorial Hospital. Bakelar was later transported by air ambulance to Portnuef Medical Center in Pocatello. Bakelar was not wearing a seatbelt; Cecconi was.
