On September 10, 2020, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on State Highway 53 and Atlas Road, just east of Rathdrum in Kootenai County.

Dan Brison, 62, of Athol, ID, was driving westbound on Highway 53 in a 2020 Western semi-truck. Diane Clark, 70, of Greenacres, WA, was driving southbound on Atlas Road in a 2007 Acura MDX. Clark did not stop her vehicle at the stop sign. The vehicles collided and Brison struck the Acura on the driver side door. The semi-truck went off the southbound shoulder of the roadway and tipped over; the Acura came to a rest on the northbound shoulder.

Brison, his passenger, Charles Farley, 34, of Oldtown, ID, and Clark were all transported to Kootenai Health in Coeur d Alene, ID. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The roadway was blocked for approximately 2 hours.

This crash investigation is continuing.
