On Monday, June 29, 2015, at 6:18 p.m. the Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash on State Highway 34 at milepost 65 in Caribou County near Soda Springs.

Terry E. Laeger, age 60 of Pocatello, was driving southbound on State Highway 34 in a 2007 Freightliner semi hauling miscellaneous salvage when he became distracted by something inside the vehicle. Laeger realized he was starting to go off the right shoulder, overcorrected, and then lost control going into the northbound lanes of the highway. Both the tractor and trailer rolled off the right shoulder of the northbound lanes. Laeger was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by ground ambulance to Caribou Memorial Hospital.

The northbound lanes of State Highway 34 were blocked for approximately 2.5 hours. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
