On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at approximately 6:50 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 50 at milepost 2.5, near Kimberly. Michael Warren, age 53, of Twin Falls was traveling westbound on Highway 50 in a 1998 Freightliner Semi-truck hauling a tank trailer. Near milepost 2.5, Warren came up behind a slower moving tractor. As Warren moved left of center into the eastbound lane to see if he could safely pass, the tractor in front of him slowed more. Warren hit his brakes to avoid a crash and lost control of his vehicle to the right, off the right shoulder of the road, and jackknifed his truck and trailer.

Warren was not injured in the crash. The westbound lane was blocked by the trailer for approximately two hours. Traffic was able to flow alternately through the open eastbound lane.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police. ISP was assisted at the scene by the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office and Idaho Transportation Department.
