After Blackburn rolled the vehicle and came to rest, he was able to get out of the vehicle and in the road way when a vehicle traveling south struck him. Evidence has been receovered at the scene of the crash which leads us to believe that the vehicle involved in the crash was a White 1993-1995 Volkswagen Jetta. The Jetta sustained damage to the front grille and undercarriage. We are looking for any information to help us locate and identify the owner and driver of this vehicle. Please contact the Idaho State Police at 236-6066 withy any information that you may have.

At approximately 4:19 AM on Sunday September 20, 2009, the Idaho State Police responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash northbound on I15 at mile marker 96, near Blackfoot. Brycen Blackburn, 18 of Idaho Falls, Idaho, was traveling in a 1990 Toyota 4-Runner and, for unknown reasons, went off the left shoulder of the road, overcorrected and went off the right shoulder. Blackburn overcorrected again and crossed to the left shoulder, rolling the vehicle which came to rest on its top on the southbound median shoulder of I15. It is unknown if Blackburn's seatbelt was worn or if alcohol was a factor in the crash. Notifications have been made to the family.
This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
