At 6:04 p.m. today, September 14, 2009, Idaho State Police responded to a motorcycle crash on I84 at milepost 3, near the Idaho/Oregon border. Eric Shink, age 40, of Kennewick, Washington was headed eastbound on I84 and took the off ramp near milepost 3, where he failed to negotiate a curve and struck the guard rail. Shink was ejected from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. Shink was wearing a helmet. Alcohol and speed are believed to have been factors. The crash is still under investigation by Trooper Bake with the assistance of Payette County Sheriff's Office.
