On Friday, June 12, 2015, at approximately 6:42 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle, fatality crash at the junction of US-93 and SH-74, 11 miles north of Hollister.

David Thornton, 63, of Twin Falls, was northbound on US-93 on a 1985 Honda Goldwing motorcycle. Thornton had just taken the onramp from northbound US-93 to eastbound SH-74. Thornton failed to negotiate the curve, and the motorcycle went off the roadway. Thornton was ejected from the motorcycle and struck a sign. The motorcycle came to rest on the shoulder of the road.

Thornton succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. He was wearing a motorcycle helmet. Next of kin has been notified.

The onramp was blocked for approximately an hour-and-a-half. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

The Idaho State Police are on scene of a single-vehicle, fatality crash at the intersection of US-93 and SH-74 in Twin Falls County, 11 miles north of Hollister. The onramp to SH-74 from northbound US-93 is currently blocked. More information will be released as it becomes available.
