On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at approximately 3:30 a.m. the Idaho State Police investigated a crash on US Highway 26 at milepost 396.5, near the Wyoming border.

Jesse Skindelien, 34, of Worthington, Minnesota, was traveling eastbound on US Highway 26 near milepost 396, in a 2010 Freightliner. Skindeliens' trailer jack-knifed due to the winter driving conditions and went off the roadway. Skindeliens' trailer blocked both lanes of travel. Shortly after, Leslie Baldwin, 62, of Roosevelt, Minnesota, was traveling eastbound in a 2012 Volvo Semi and was unable to stop, colliding with Skindeliens' trailer. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The highway was blocked in both directions for approximately five hours. The highway is currently open to one lane. Further information will be released as it becomes available.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
