On July 18, 2014, at 7:42 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle injury crash on Interstate 84 at milepost 40.

Olga Espinoza-Paniagua, 55, of Nampa, was driving westbound in a 2000 Ford Windstar van. She drove out of the lane and then overcorrected. The van crossed the lanes to the median where it struck the center jersey barrier. It then crossed all lanes again, hit the shoulder jersey barrier and, came to rest in the middle two lanes of westbound traffic.

Espinoza-Paniagua was wearing her seatbelt, and was transported to St. Alphonsus Nampa Health Plaza. The lanes were partly blocked for about an hour while crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
